🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Voice Frustration Over Size Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing. The second-hand shopping app has updated its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform every member regarding the update. Digital Channels Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Updates Before the change, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Stories One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Manual Updates Another shopper, based in Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated. Platform Context The app has more than 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
