Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of characters who will separate from the central cast to begin their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as important members in House Halovar could assist the party access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Questers and Schemers groups.
Fans can anticipate discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
